Dance the Night Away with.... The Shopping Cart, Oh Ya.

For those of you who are wondering.....

No we did not do the shopping cart all night long...

Actually we didn't even do it half the night. And for those of you who are wondering just what, exactly the shopping cart is. It is simply walking while acting like you are pushing a shopping cart, while you pretend to take things from a shelf and put them in the imaginary basket that you are supposedly. Pushing. It sounds ridiculous... I know. But fun nonetheless.

It was kinda just what my friend Rebecca and I did when we weren't asked to dance. Just so that we could look like dorks. Because that is one of the things we do best.

No actually, we did a whole bunch of line dances, and some waltzes and swing dancing. And we did the sprinkler too but that is a different story. Well it is kind of the same story, (oh no here I go again.)

I am very skatter-brained lately. Actually come to think of it... I am always skatter brained. Which is probably why I start doing this in like every post ever thought of on my blog.

And will I ever get on with the goings on of the evening besides the fact that we (we as in, my siblings, me and Rebecca, who might as well be a sibling.) did the shopping cart and the sprinkler? Oh, we played musical chairs too.... Just thought I would throw that in there for (as my southern friends would say, who I might add... I need to write a letter to.) y'all.

Ok, just one more thought on that. I love saying "y'all" but every time I say it here in the Northwest people don't seem to quite appreciate it. I'm not sure why, but whenever I say it I get weird looks and giggles... Which is probably most of the reason that I say it. I am a very contrary person. My brother likes to say that I have a disagreeable personality. I haven't quite decided if that is a good or a bad thing yet.

I will let you know my further thought on that later... Maybe. That is a BIG maybe, though.

Post Christmas Shenanigans.

Apparently we (as in the Woltersdorf family and a few others) decided that we wanted to go up into the mountains and hang out one day. So, we did. It was fun, It was wet.... wait no what am I saying... It wasn't wet a bit actually, I guess I am just so used to saying that it was wet because it normally is.

Let me start over ok?

Here goes... It was fun, it was cold (not wet), well if you count the river then it was very wet, but we didn't go in the river and the river didn't bother us... Well there were a few mud puddles. Whoa, ok I need to focus or I am never going to be done with this post and you are going to be stuck here reading it for hours.... Or never reading it because I never finished it because I kept on rambling...

Alright let's try this one more time shall we. It was fun, it was cold, it was muddy, but really it was pretty awesome... And I hurt my leg... (Just thought I would throw that in there just in case you wanted to know... You probably didn't but it doesn't really matter wether or not you did or did not because there you have it.)

I was so bummed when we got there because I realized that our camera was broken and the Bloomers didn't bring theirs, so we were cameraless.... Or so I thought, it turns out smart phones are good for something besides looking at facebook... Who knew right? So, Ethan took these pictures (yes all of them) with his phone. I was really glad that he did otherwise we wouldn't have any pictures of our time up there.

Hundreds of dead fish in the river.... Wow this is a wonderful way to start off the pictures isn't it? Oh well. I am feeling very random today.

Mom made chili for all of us AND, AND, she says she's disappointed that there is no pictures of the (so called) "camp cook" or the "camp cooks chili". I think that she should fill out a complaint form and give it to the photographer... Watch out Ethan, my mother is ruthless. ;)

After we were done goofing off way up out in the boonies, Me ( acting as co-pilot), Josiah (as squashed banana 1.) , Ethan (as Pilot), Gabe (squashed banana 2), and Josh (squashed banana 3. and nominated most talkative person on trip.... Ever.) decided that we wanted to go to a movie. We saw Tintin. I really liked Tintin, it was very faithful to the books/comics (I guess they are just comics but we have a book with comics in it... What now?! Two in one. Pretty impressive eh?) And the animation was incredible. Andy Serkis did a really good job acting as the Captain, and Jaime Bell (Tintin) will always be one of my favorites. I had a really hard time, I must admit, getting it out of my head that he wasn't actually "gollum" anymore was... pretty tough.

and the last picture of the evening. You can't see it very well but all of us "minors" were told to stand behind the "no minors" sign just for kick and giggles. It was fun.

After that we went home and chilled out, put puzzles together, got warm by the fire, Watched John Wayne, and since none, (and when I say none... I mean none.) of these losers had ever seen Tangled. So we watched that too, and sadly they didn't get to see the end but they did see most of it. And got to hear all of us sing along to the songs as it was playing, was that as annoying as it sounds you ask?.... Yes, yes it was.

All in all it was very fun and we had a great time! Hi-lights of the day I think were, listening to all the guys sing "amerika" in the car, watching Jared back up his jeep and go through a mud puddle fast so that he could get mud on his car, and joking about duct taping Josh's mouth shut, and renaming aforementioned "duct tape" to "Josh tape" (sorry Josh, but that was funny).

This year we had our annual christmas eve breakfast as usual. Although it was a little bit cramped it was still awesome, and one of the best ones yet. (yes Mack family we missed you so much) It was... In my opinion, everything it should have been, and was expected to be. I love the christmas season for so many reasons... And for those of you who don't celebrate christmas.... You are seriously missing out, and I mean seriously.

Wow, I love ice cream! And for all of you who are asking right now, "then why don't you marry it." My reply is... Because I'm not old enough. :P (big joke in our family)

Alright, now on to the important part. This post is for my good friend Rebecca, in remembrance of all the times that we snuck ice cream in the middle of the nigh, or... Come to think of it in the middle of the day too. Remember when it got all over my pillow because Josiah came in when we were eating it? Ya, good times.

Christmas Tree. Oh, Christmas Tree.

I am behind in posting... I guess that is a good thing though because that means I have been busy doing things to tell you all a about, right? I sure hope so anyway.

Well, every year we go up in the mountains with a bunch of friends and get christmas trees. This year was no exception, we got very, very, very, wet. It was raining, big surprise there huh?... Not, when is it ever not raining here? Oh well, without all of our lovely rain we couldn't go out and pick a lovely, perfect, christmas tree (they call this the evergreen state for a reason, it is literally green forever). I have to say that it just wasn't the same with no snow up there this year, I was sad, I might have shed a sorrowful tear or two, but shhhh.. don't tell anybody, that's just embarrassing.

I wasn't able to get very many pictures of our wet adventures, but the ones that I did get I will share with you. :) Do you feel special? I hope so. :P

I think I took more pictures on the way up there than I actually did while we were up there.

Mesh and Seth... Being cheesy... Don't tell them I said that. heeheehee

Ok, so that was our christmas tree expedition! We had so much fun! We love going out into the wilderness and conquering one of it's most fearsome adversaries.... The pine tree... Yes they are dangerous, but it is as they say... "Veni vidi dorfi" translation, "We came, We saw, We dorfed." Ok well maybe that's not exactly how they say it but I like it that way better.

Thanksgiving.

Oh my, I am a little late in posting this but... Oh well, you will just have to deal with it.

I thought that with this post I would write down a few things that I was thankful for since I didn't get to do it earlier. So, this will be two posts very mixed and mingled into one, so much so that you wont be able to make out which post was supposed to be which.

So for thanksgiving we had oh so much food, and oh so much fun, and an oh so huge turkey, actually we had two huge turkeys. It was yummy, it was fun, it was a lot of work, it was in short wonderful. And man oh man, that tryptophan sure did a number on me. :) I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open!

I think though out of anything my favorite part of the meal is the dessert! Seriously, sweets are my thing, I love sugar and candy, so when dessert rolled around I was very happy, and believe me we had a lot of it. What is your favorite part of the thanksgiving meal?

1. I am thankful for wonderful fathers that love the Lord, and their families.

Dad was cutting up the turkey and he couldn't resist having a little snack while he was at it.

2. I am thankful for precious time spent with friends and family.

They worked on this puzzle so hard ad didn't even finish. It was sad.

3. I am thankful for little boys that make me smile and laugh, like this one.

Little Bradley is quite the cowboy. Him and Naomi get along very well. hehehe.

4. for long fun conversations with dear sisters in Christ. It was great catching up with the A. family. :)

We had so much fun laughing and talking with these girls.

5. For growing up sisters who get to be better and better at helping around the house all the time.

Lydia was very tired by the end of the day.

6. For the time consuming art of putting together puzzles. I am afraid I am not very good at it, I don't have enough patience to ever finish one. :)

I think Charles was there at that puzzle most of the evening.

7. For childhood buddies, that turn into life long friends.

8. For mama's that take care of and love you forever and always. And cook awesome turkeys at thanksgiving. :)

This turkey weighed 34 lbs. It. Was. Huge.

I know, these guys were the center of attention that night. :)

9. For precious babies, that grow into godly (in this case) young men.

Just to put your mind at ease. No he is not dying, that purple stuff on his mouth is from 'gentian violet' and it is for thrush. I can't believe how big he is getting!

I think that they were doing cheers here. It was so cute to watch them. :)

10. I am thankful that God provided the means for us to have a thanksgiving feast. God is indeed good.

What is a thanksgiving day without sparkling cider anyway?

11. For huge tables that everyone can fit around. :) Dad and Josiah built this table for mom last christmas. It is pretty awesome!

This is our table picture. Usually for thanksgiving we set the table really nice but we didn't do that this year. I think it had something to do with not wanting to break anymore nice plates. Hopefully we will do that for christmas. I always love eating out of pretty dishes, it makes the food taste that much better. haha.

Alan looks very creepy in this picture. On a side note... He did make some very yummy food for all of us! It was delicious.

12. I am thankful for Dessert. It has seriously saved me from having a complete mental breakdown. Ok, so maybe I exaggerated a little but, ya know.

Robyn made a really yummy pumpkin pie.

Charles made this. It was kinda like a fruit pizza but not. It was really yummy!

Mama and Lydia made this. One of my personal favorites... Lemon Meringue Pie.

Keziah and I made a cheesecake! It was so yummy. I don't know why I have never made one before.

Today I am going to tell you about something very near and dear to my heart... Coffee. Getting to make coffee for church in the mornings every sunday has definitely given me a much greater appreciation for the drink and on top of that I just love coffee. Only when bought pre-made though I don't do the whole, coffee at home thing, unfortunately for my wallet.

I am going to dedicate this post to Shay, because she just loves coffee. I also dedicate it to Josh S. Because I am so sorry that my brother handed you that first cup, hopefully someday you will be able to loose yourself from it's evil bonds, I have hope you will return to your former happy self that you were before you tasted the stuff.

1. Caffeine Can Kill You
But you'd have to drink 80 to 100 cups in a hurry, health experts say. I advise not trying.

2. Coffee is actually the second most widely-traded commodity in the world, behind oil.

As I sit here applying my red lipstick for no particular reason, wishing for a cup of tea (yes in a tea cup :)), coloring on a tee-shirt, and listening to Sara Bareilles. A thought... A question actually, occurred to me, one that has frequented my frontal lobe quite a few times during my very extended stay on this planet we call earth...

The question is... Do I look like my mother?

I have never thought that I really looked like my mom really at all, I had always thought that I looked more like my great grandma. So, to settle a long disputed argument, please help me decide who I look more like.

(I did them all in black and white because the oldest one was in black and white so I couldn't really change it.)

Tea Tastes So Much Better When...

Tea Cups.

Yes, every once in a while I like the comforting feeling of a mug in my hand on a cold winter night.

But...

Most of the time I love the sophistication of a tea cup in my hand. The rattle of china as you set your cup back down on your saucer.... It is just so romantic. Why don't we drink out of these anymore? I miss them. We should make a tea cup come back.

I mean think about it. They look so lonely and sad sitting up on that shelf getting all dusty. Crying out for someone to use them more than just once a year. It's so sad.

And there ends my tea cup reverie. Will they ever be used again in our everyday normal routine?...

I don't know...

White Christmas.

........Is awesome.......

Soooo, I love this movie. One of my all time fav's. Seriously Who wouldn't like this movie? If you haven't seen this movie go, just do it, right now, please! Ok, yes there are some scenes where a couple girls aren't wearing the most modest things but overall this movie is soooooo... sweet. :) I've already watched it three times this fall. You know that I'm getting itchy for the christmas season when the only movie that I want to watch is this one. :)

I love old musicals. I can live without the new ones. They are usually stupid and just poorly done.

One of my favorite songs ever. Oh, and see the guy on the left? Yup that one. He is one of my ALL TIME favorite actors. He cracks me up. :)

Ok, I love chocolate, and I'm guessing that most of you out there do to. And who would have thought that it is actually super good for you too. Yay! This is awesomeness.

An Autumn Walk.

I love taking walks in the fall when all the leaves are falling and everything is so beautiful and crisp. Which is why my sisters, mother and I did this the other day. I had so much fun, and hope we can have many more walks like this. :) Some of the funnest times that I can remember have been of me just going on walks with family and friends.

Muffin Madness.

Last saturday my mom and dad took a trip down to....Corvallis? I think it was Corvallis anyway. Well that's beside the point, the point is that they went somewhere and did something and left us poor children at home. :'( So, my parents went somewhere and I had to make muffins for church the next morning. They were really yummy so I thought that I would share some of the pictures of me making them, and the recipe just because they were super yummy, righteous mama muffins. :)

Nutmeg Streusel Muffins:
Streusel Mixture:
11/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened

Muffins:
2/3 c. all-purpose flour
11/2 tsp. baking powder
11/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. buttermilk
1 egg

Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. In large bowl combine 11/3 c. flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 c. for streusel topping. In same bowl add all muffin ingredients to streusel mixture. Stir just until moistened. Spoon into greased 12 c, muffin pan. Sprinkle with reserved streusel mixture. Bake for 18 to 22 min. or until lightly browned. Let stand 5 min.; remove from pan and enjoy! :)

My Graduation Speech.

I realize that this is October and that I should have posted this back in May when it actually happened but ya know me, I just like to keep y'all in suspense. It's all part of my evil plan. (insert your own version of an evil laugh here)

Anyway, without further ado, here is my graduation speech.... Finally.

Ok, well maybe a little bit of ado, but anywho. Did I mention that I graduated with the most awesome people ever! They are all such good examples of what Godly young people should look and act like and I love them all! (and trust me... I need all the good examples I can get. :))

My Speech:

Most of the graduates this year can probably relate to me when I say that the most annoying thing that anyone can ask you once you tell them that you are about to graduate is "What are you going to do after you graduate?" I know that most people mean well, and that this stems from a genuine interest in your life and a desire to find out just exactly what you are interested in, in short... It shows that they care about you. But frankly sometimes I just don't know how to answer them and I feel like saying, "Does it matter?" But I have not said that to anyone yet.... Much to my mothers surprise, and am not going to do it this time.

So when you asked me that question, I came up with and answer that really is kinda lame, just to ya know.... Get that one over and done with. I realize that my worldview is slightly different them some of you out there. So to make it up to all of you who have asked me this question in the past, and have gotten one of my lame, half hearted answers..... Here is you answer.

First after high school, I am going to be helping in the discipleship of my younger brothers, and sisters, and building relationships with them that are worth having. Because if you cant have a good relationship with those that love you the most, who can you have a good relationship with?

Second, I am going to help run my mothers house to the best of my ability.

Third, I am going to help my fathers business become one of those very successful, private companies that the government is continually trying to convince us is evil. If this is indeed the case I am greatly looking forward to what they so lovingly refer to as "evil".

Fourth, convincing my mother that eighteen is in fact the magical age.

And last but not least developing a stronger deeper relationship with Jesus Christ my savior, determining his will for my life, and living it out each and every single day, of my life.

Happy Birthday Naomi!

I am so terribly behind in my birthday post this time for Naomi, and I probably missed some others as well. But oh well at least I'm getting to it right?

Naomi's birthday was on September 6th. She turned 7 years old this year and it has been so much fun to see her grow in knowledge, understanding and truth. There are several things that I love about Naomi.

1. She is not afraid of the unusual. :)

2. She is (despite all her tomboyish tendencies) very beautiful!

3. Smart and thoughtful.

4. She puts up with and even laughs at all my crazy antics as an older sister. :)

5. Is. Oh, so entertaining.

My Thoughts On...

College, Education, and Christian Parents Negating Their

God Given Duties.

Actually part of the reason that I am writing this is because I have been thinking about it a great deal lately and partly because I just needed to vent, and I thought my blog would be the perfect place to do it.

Not that I think that I am better than anyone else out there, in fact I am probably worse than all of you that are reading this. But I want to start this off with a couple of questions..... Why would I want to go to an educational institution where they are just going to pump a bunch of stuff that I don't believe in into my head, where they are going to teach me a bunch of stuff that I probably already know, or could find out very easily, and where they are going to change up history, muddle science, and reject the sovereign law, and existence of our Father in Heaven? (Not to mention all the worthless propaganda that comes out of there.)

When did the order change from discipleship and mentorship, to large classrooms full of students taking whatever is fed to them? What was wrong with the system of apprenticeship that was instituted in years past?

The answer my friends is because it is popular, it is accepted, because you supposedly won't be able to get a job without it, and because there just isn't anyone doing this anymore. Here then is another question for you. Why not? Why are we as Christians, as warriors for Christ not taking this idea, this biblical principle, and running with it? Why are fathers of this day and age rejecting their God given roll as protecter, provider, and teacher. Why are mothers today running off to get a college degree, putting their children in the public education system and joining in the fray of politics, and business, along side the men? Why are we sacrificing our children's spiritual well-being up to the god of convenience. I do not know what possesses men, and nations to think that they can become God, but I do know that we as believers should do our best to steer clear of these public institutions, that will just fill our heads with all this metaphorical rubbish that has so cluttered the dashboard of our society today that we can no longer see the road that has been set before us. We are much too apt to let this happen in our lives and I believe that it is, and will prove fatal in the end, should we choose to expose ourselves to the godless institution that the college system has proven itself to be.

While at the beginning we may go into these institutions untainted and optimistic, I believe in the end we will come out much the worse, with little or no benefit to our spiritual and mental well being. Therefore brothers and sisters, I would caution you as you consider this path, as it may lead to a place from which only few are able to return.

I have let you down. Abandoned you. Left you alone to face the cold, hard, lonely confines of a park bench, by the side of a lake. Oh, that fateful day, when I forgot you, woe is me!

September Camping Trip.

Our family went on a camping trip this last month. It was so much fun. It was also very last minute, it basically went like this. Monday: Everything goes fine the Woltersdorf family is expecting a normal week. Tuesday: Wake up to hear dad saying "Hannah were going camping on Thursday. Do you think you can get everything together by then?

As you can imagine, my surprise was great. While I was excited it was rather stressful, however everything worked out and we had a blast! We even made some friends! anyway here are some of the pics that I took while we were there.

Hornings Hideout! Happy 19th Birthday Josiah!!

For Josiah's 19th Birthday this year our family went to "Horning's Hideout" in Oregon to play frisbee golf! It was a lot of fun! Thanks Josiah for wanting to go there!! We Laughed, We Played, We Cried when our frisbees didn't go where we wanted them to, and we yelled "Righteous Mama!" (or "Righteous Brother", whichever gender you were referring to at the time) with a reckless abandon that sent all of us into fits of giggling (at least I yelled it, I'm not sure if they were laughing at or with me?), and we officially decided that our family is the loudest frisbee golfers on the planet. We all had a blast Josiah, thanks for being such an awesome big brother!

History Project!

I have been teaching school to Esther, Keziah, and Lydia this year. We just did our first history project about two weeks ago! It was so much fun and I hope to be doing a whole lot more this year with them! Anyway, we were studying the Decline of the Roman Empire and the girls decided that they wanted to make Roman pillars out of sugar cookie dough. They had a lot of fun (even if their pillars didn't even slightly resemble the ones that the Romans used. :) )

Church Camp!

So this was the first official camping trip that I have ever been on without my whole family there........It was nice, it was fun, it was somewhat strange, but altogether it was mostly awesome!!!!!!

I had so much fun! It is such a blessing to be able to go and fellowship with out church body in such a fun way! The four oldest went together, and it was a blast! We didn't get to go for the whole time because there was a little something at home that had just been delivered (or should I say someone). But we did go for a day and spent the night!! So much fun!! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the first day because I was having way too much fun playing volleyball and visiting with friends that I didn't even think about it.

If you've ever been in the Pacific Ocean you know that it is fridgid... ya... but it was fun!! This was before we made our dangerous trek into the deep cold icy ocean. After we packed everything up at camp we went to a light house with the K. Family! It was so much fun!! Thanks for lettings us tag along!

On August 16th, at 10:00 in the evening my baby brother, 8 pounds 2 ounces, and 21 inches long of perfect baby was born! Justice Gabriel is oh so cute, and I have super cute pictures to show y'all, taken by some friends of ours. Why didn't I take the pictures you ask? Because I am photographically challenged. I call this my 4th of July Dessert, it's actual name is "Strawberry Trifle" but where's the fun in that? I love making this for Independence day 1. Because it is extremely easy(and yummy I might add), and 2. Because it is so patriotic! I am going to disappoint all of you who want my recipe and not tell you, because if I told you, you wouldn't have to invite me to your parties to get to taste this, and then nobody would invite me anywhere... and that would be sad. :( hehehe I was up till 3 in the morning making these so don't judge my pictures. :)

Painting, Painting, Painting.

So a few weeks a ago we painted our former school room so that we could move dads office over here. It was four straight days of nothing but painting.....(thats actually whats wrong with me people. The suspicion has been confirmed, yes I am crazy.) Needless to say I was a complete mess. But, despite the hot weather, cheesy love songs, the smell of fresh paint wafting through the air, threatening to make me go completely insane at any moment, it went well, and doesn't look all that bad I might add.

You all might be wondering why I took this picture, the next one explains...

Yes, I trapped her in the middle of a painted floor. Haha

Last Sunday as we were getting ready for church my little brother, Israel comes up to me and says "Hannah, will you take pictures of Liberty and Me? Because we look so much like a Prince and Princess." How could I tell him no? So I got my camera out and I took some pictures of my Prince and Princess.

As I was taking pictures I realized that the little things like this in life are really what matter and that we can be as rushed as we want on sunday mornings, but if we don't stop to enjoy the gifts that God has given us once in a while then we'll miss it. And it's things like, little brothers asking me to take their picture, that I wouldn't miss.

I love all of Israel's silly poses, they are so epic!!

"Owl City's" new album is really cool!! I love it but my three favorite songs on the album are this....in this order I might add.

I love how he subtly incorporates his love for God and all His creation throughout this whole album.

Oh and this short little intermission about the Astronauts is so sad, and beautiful.
